Funds needed in order to continue the education project
for a period of one year

  • Angela Maria Lozano, years of experience on the job with children, accepted and liked by students, parents and teachers. She will be working full time in the main school and two small schools in Jaco.

Angela Maria has all necessary skills to present this educational portion of our organization in a manner that is both: accepted by the local families, as well as assimilated into the school program.

The annual education budget of $12,500 impacts just under 900 children in the one main and two smallers schools in our area. This $1,040 per month creates the basis for teaching these young citizens the value of respect for life, as well as teaching them the concept of RESPONSIBILITY.    

Funds needed in order to continue the spay/neuter project
for a period of one year

This amount represents a figure of $500 per month, and includes 50 castrations per month. It has been calculated that 50% of the animals will be strays or pets belonging to extremely low income families, who typically are unable to pay the full price of the surgery.

   

Funds needed in order to continue the other projects — adoption and helping low income families —
for a period of one year

This amount is $700 per month. This includes an initial veterinary evaluation of abandoned/stray & abused animals. Necessary medical attention, vaccinations, de-worming and pest control is provided as needed, and the animal is spayed or neutered before adoption as well. This also includes the pet food and meds needed to support the animals in the foster homes until the animal is adopted.
This does not include emergency transportation to the University Clinic in Heredia, orthopedic operations or any other special and/or expensive treatments which are funded via donations, case by case, by individuals.
